The Story of Us Mini Album

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a mini album I made featuring an acrylic album from Clear Scraps and some older papers I have from Simple Stories.  I just love the goodies from Simple Stories, don't you?  And since I have been trying to work through my stash, and this "kit" still had lots of yummy goodies......

I just love a mini, mini album.  The size is just perfect for Instax photos, Instagram photos, or whatever.  Everything is just so cute when it is tiny.  And, I was able to use up quite a bit of the goodies that were left from the kit.....now, if only someone would come over to help me destash.

Swim Bling

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday!  Well, for us it is back to school, back to swim, back to our normally somewhat overscheduled lives.  lol  Although, I have to say, for the first time in the 12 years my children have been swimming we have everyone practicing at the same time (OK shouldn't really count since technically Brighton isn't swimming anymore, but I am seriously excited) and to top it off, since Mackenzie drives....WOOP WOOP.  I don't even have to take anyone!!!!!!!

OK, well, speaking of swim, I wanted to share with you a little project I made using some scraps of Rhinestone Sticker Sheets I have from The Buckle Boutique.  Now, if you have been following me for any bit of time you probably know that Ainsley is my blingy, girly girl...Mackenzie not so much.  Which is why I was amazed when Mackenzie presented her swim meet hat to me to bling up.
We found this hat at swimoutlet.com, and since most everyone in her group has something similar we thought it needed something special.

I began by printing our team logo and cutting it out to create a template.
Then, turned it over and traced it onto a scrap of The Buckle Boutique Rhinestone Sticker sheet in our team color.
And then used my exacto knife to cut it out.  The rhinestones in the sticker sheets are made from a gel material which allows you to easily cut right through them to create curves and other shapes.
After cutting out our team logo I simply attached it to a rectangle of the black Rhinestone Sticker Sheet and attached that to the hat.
Many of Mackenzie's team mates love her hat and I have had requests to make a few more.

Split Letter Monogram

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you another project I made using Clear Scraps, my electronic cutter and some vinyl.
Split monogram_nancy keslin_clear scraps

I shared last week that I won a bunch of vinyl from Cricut.  Well, the vinyl bug has bitten and I have been cutting like crazy.  Wait till you see all the fun stuff I made.   If you know me tho, I can be a bit of a klutz, always in a hurry and maybe not taking enough time to get things done.   I have seen so many of these split letter monogram frames and people who have cut themselves trying to create them.  Clear Scraps to the rescue.

All I needed was a Clear Craft sheet, my vinyl, and an electronic cutter.  The Clear Craft sheet is perfectly clear and there is no chance I would put my hand through the glass.

Oh, did I mention that I am helping a friend of mine is making one for her son's upcoming wedding?  How fun is that?  These monograms make great wedding gifts.  I can't wait to make more.

I hope you enjoy this home decor project.

You Light Up My Cupcake Stand

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day!  Today I want to share with you a fun project I made using the Cupcake Stand Sizzix die, some fun Prima Marketing Papers, and my favorite Chibitronics LED lights.

To begin you will need to attach your patterned paper to mat board and run through the die cut machine to create the needed shapes.  Attaching your patterned paper first ensures you get a good, clean cut.  The stand is easily assembled from there.  I added a bit of lace around the bottom of the die cut for extra interest.

The copper tape adds another embellishment and was simply wrapped around all four sides of the stand.  Try to keep your lines straight and your lights will easily fit right in.
I attached the battery on the underneath of the cupcake stand so that it could easily be replaced or removed when not in use.  Be careful that your copper tape does not touch, you don't want to short out your battery.
This was a super fun and easy project to create and makes that cupcake something special when presented.

A Pocket Full of.....

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday!  Today I wanted to share with you a project I made with one of my favorite Sizzix Dies, the Faceted Cone by Brenda Walton, some Teresa Collins papers, and some fun LED circuits from Chibitronics.

I began by die cutting the cone from my patterned paper and assembling as per the directions.  I then added my copper foil tape from the Chibitronics kit around the top of the cone to add extra interest.
I poked a couple of holes in the cone and ran the foil tape through the holes so that I could attach my battery and complete my circuit.
From there it was easy to embellish my cone.  A die cut rosette, also from Sizzix, and a few items from my stash.  Poke another hole in the bottom of the cone and add a crystal with the addition of a jump ring.
Thanks for stopping by.

Back to School with Clear Scraps and Cricut

Hey everyone!  Today I want to share with you some fun bookmarks I made using the Mini Card Album from Clear Scraps and my Cricut.  With school rapidly upon us I wanted to make something really special for the coming school year.

Recently I won a prize from Cricut that included a bunch of different vinyl sheets and was trying to decide what I should do with them.  I found these images for free in the Cricut Design Space library, sized them to fit the acrylic mini card album and cut them out of a few different colors of vinyl.  The vinyl sticks perfectly to the acrylic album pages making a quick and easy bookmark.  From there I simply punched an extra hole in the middle of the card to string some ribbon and lace.

These bookmarks were super easy and fun to create, and were an easy way to enter into the world of vinyl.  Hugs.

Yard-Zee and the Buckle Boutique

Hi everyone and happy Monday.  Hope you had a great weekend...I know I did.  So glad swim season is over and we can just kick back and enjoy these next few weeks without commitments.

Of course, no swim meet meant we could have a few people over Saturday night, and that meant I needed to make a thing or two.  I found these fun 4 inch blocks on Amazon.com and thought how much fun to make a set of Yardtze dice (giant sized Yahtzee for the yard)  with the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.

Although it took a while, did you know that each die has 21 pips? it was super simple.  I used a Sizzix circle die to cut 105 3/4 inch circles from the Black Dazzling Diamond Rhinestone Sticker sheet and placed them in order on the blocks.  I used a standard die as a model.  Sizzix die cuts are one of my favorite things to cut these Rhinestone Sticker sheets with...perfect cuts every time.
Once I had completed all the dice we were ready to play.
These dice are huge and are so much fun.  They look great sitting in a metal bucket I found for 70% off at Michaels.  The bucket also serves as a housing for score sheets (I downloaded mine from here) and pencils, and you can use it as a cup to throw the dice.  Or....
These dice could be used for just about any dice game you can imagine.  I know that Amazon is currently sold out of the blocks I used, but I saw a package of wood blocks slightly smaller at Target the other day in the Maker area.

Love Wins - Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Today I am here with the Love Wins blog hop with The Buckle Boutique.  All the designers were asked to come up with a wedding idea using The Buckle Boutique Rainbow Colored Rhinestone Sticker Sheet.  You should have arrived here from Patti Holder's blog.  If not, sneak back to The Buckle Boutique and start at the beginning.

I used a beautiful cut file from SVGCuts Mistletoe Manner to create the lantern with my Core'dinations cardstock and my Cricut.  Be prepared...those panels take quite some time to cut.
I added the Rhinestone Sticker Sheets in the panels with a few flowers from my stash.  The lantern has a place to insert an LED candle to add a beautiful glow.

Next stop on our hop is Tammy Smith Santana, so head over there next.

Oh, and here is the entire line up...just in case.

A Little Mixed Media RAK

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a little mixed media canvas I made for a swap with a group on Facebook.  The swap didn't go so well....someone who shall remain nameless flaked on me, but....Karma.

Anyway, I really liked the way this canvas turned out and had been waiting to share it and hers...but you know how that goes.  sigh

The individual whom I was swapping with said she really liked white, so.....lots of shades of white and cream...a few of my favorite goodies, canvas, wood, Prima flowers, bits of older papers....it is hard to see, but there is some inking, some gesso, etc.

I hope that she really likes her canvas and the other goodies I sent.  I have decided to take the high road and believe that if someone really needs this canvas and a few other goodies that badly, then I will look at this as a RAK as opposed to a swap.

Hugs.
