Pack Your Bags and Scoot to Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone! Today I wanted  to share with you a few projects I made with the Hydrangea Hippo Pack Your Bags and Scoot crafting kit that was featured over on the Hydrangea Hippo blog a few weeks ago.

When I saw this kit I loved the fun colors and embellishments and couldn't wait to start creating.  In the end, I was amazed at the variety of projects I was able to create.

Although this paper line from Echo Park seems geared toward younger children, I found that the colors and patterns when mixed with the kit embellishments were perfect for my older teen and started out with a 12x12 layout.
The sticker sheets and papers in this kit contained many train and travel related elements, so I decided to use my Cricut to cut a mini album in a train shape to feature a few of the photos from our cross country train trip.  Yes, this was just a few years ago.....look at those baby faces.  hee hee

And finally, for something completely different I decided to create a rose topiary as a bit of home decor.  I used my Tim Holtz pinecone die with my Sizzix and lots of the papers in the kit to make the roses.  I punched my butterflies out of the playing cards and then layered on the trims.  Hydrangea Hippo always has the most gorgeous trims.....

I still can't believe the variety of projects I was able to make with this kit.  From beautiful, spring, home decor, a project for an older teen, to a mini album filled with photos of my children when they were younger, this kit offers something for everyone.

Be sure and grab your kit today and get started creating.

Hugs.

Paper Dolls - Mixed Media

Hi everyone!  Today I want  to share a project I made using some of the fun items available at the Your Memories Here store.

I have been eyeing all the yummy goodies from Prima's Winter 2013 collection and decided to try my hand a paper doll inspired by Julie Nutting.  As much as I love those stamps, I am afraid that since I am not much of a stamper and they are only a specific size....well......I decided to create my own.  For the background I used some older Prima papers I had in my stash as well as lots of mists, paints, and rub ons.
I then decorated her with lovely with papers from my Glitz Cashmere Dame papers, prima bling, Stickles, and a simple flower.  A few rub ons both from Hambly and Bo Bunny helped add texture and depth.
Finally I used a bit of packaging and my Prima Press to make the title.

It has been a while since I made anything mixed media and I must say I had a lot of fun.  I already have another couple of ladies in the works.  hee hee  Oh, and someone suggested I start naming these lovelies.  Thoughts?

Be sure and stop by the Your Memories Here store and check out all the new goodies coming in from CHA.     And, please excuse our mess as we get everything into the store and reorganized.

Hugs.

Braces - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you another project I made with the Walking on Sunshine kit from the Sampler.

I have been having so much fun with the gorgeous colors in this kit as well as the wood pieces and wood washi.
washi tape, stamping, teen, braces
But I think one of my favorite things has to be the gorgeous resist alphas.  They are just too much fun to customize.
banner, stamping, resist, butterfly
And, although I am not much of a stamper, I couldn't resist stamping onto the cute "goodies" bag that came in my kit, embossing the butterflies and then cutting them out.  Making your own embellishments can be fun!  hee hee

Don't forget to check out the fun challenges going on right now here on the blog, you still have a few days to play.

the Mouse - Sampler Kit Club

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a project I made using the new Walking on Sunshine kit from the Sampler kit club.

I love the fun bright colors in this kit as well as the fabulous new Prima Resist letters and wood products I couldn't wait to jump in and play.

I had this fun photo of the fam from Disneyland back in January.  I thought the colors were perfect.
And, of course I had to try out a bit of star burst I have been seeing everywhere.  hee hee
How much do I love the wood pieces?  With a little of the chalk ink included in the kit...yes please.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are having a great day.

Home Decor - Chalkboard- Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share a project I made using some of the goodies from my Your Memories Here store.

I found this sweet frame at Michaels for just a few dollars with my 40% off coupon and couldn't wait to make something for my daughter's room.  We have been in the process of redecorating and I thought this would be such a great addition for my soon to be teen.
I painted the frame with a crackle wash in white and then backed it in chalkboard contact paper over chipboard.
And then the fun began.  Bits of flowers, chipboard, bling and butterflies from my Prima grab bags brought out the girly factor of this little chalkboard.
I know that she loves using it in her room.

Hugs.

Lovely - Scrapbook Layout - YMH Designs

Hi everyone! Today I wanted  to share with you a scrapbook layout I made using the colors from the February Prima Product Pick, lots of flowers from my Prima Grab Bags, a bit of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, and a few scraps from my Almanac Collection of papers.
I love the look of worn wood for scrapbook backgrounds lately....I just can't seem to get enough.  I created this by painting my chipboard with crackle medium and then with a bit of white paint.
Adding bits of color to the background using my mists gives me just a hint of color while leaving the focus on my photo.
And who can resist a mixture of gorgeous blooms?  One of the great things about the grab bags is the mixture of goodies you get.

Be sure and check out the grab bags and other great products on sale now at Your Memories Here.

Hugs,

Disney Days - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you one last project with the gorgeous Simply Sweet kit from the Sampler.  I have so enjoyed playing with this kit...the colors were so fun and the patterns...oh my.  My favorite though has got to be the buttons.  Anyway......

My family recently spent a few days in Disneyland where I snapped this photo of my girls.

Bits of the gorgeous mist in the kit and the fabulous buttons highlight this layout.  I really love the "bubble paper" that was in this kit...and did I mention the buttons?  hee hee

I love that the Hydrangea Hippo kits include so many unique embellishments.  And the Everyday Eclectic kit is no exception.  With the selection of fun metal medallions, sequins, flowers and gorgeous trims; this kit can be taken in almost any direction, from fun and funky to slightly shabby, this kit has something for everyone.

You know me and my love of mini albums....I couldn't resist adding bits of those super fun embellishments to each and every page.  hee hee

As a matter of fact, there were so many fun embellishments I couldn't resist adding a few to this cute little burlap bag I had lying on my desk.

And finally, something I have been dying to do for quite a while, a little fashion party.   I purchased the Fashion Forms book from Klutz and couldn't resist making a few items for a fun little party set.  I could never pull off these fashions myself, but they are so bright and cheerful, I might just be tempted to try.  hee hee
Needless to say I had a ton of fun with this kit.  The papers, the trims, the sequins and buttons, beads and baubles, the flowers.  What more can a girl ask for?

Hugs.
