Oh the Places - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a great week.  I am recovering from our 10 days of house guests and trying to get back in the swing of things.

Today I wanted to share with you a project I made using the Spring Jubilee Collection from Pink Paislee.  The colors in this kit are just gorgeous and I paired them with some fun flowers from Prima that I picked up in a grab bag from Your Memories Here.
Lots of fussy cutting and a bit of gesso on my backround paper really brought my page to life.
I used a Prima mask to add additional texture as well as lots of different Prima lace.

Well, that's all for today.

Hugs.

Work - the Sampler

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have been missing for a few days, but my Dad and Step Mother were in town for a bit and I got really caught up in family.....which is a good thing.

Any way, I am back today to share with you a project using the September kit, Flying High, from the Sampler.  This year Ainsley's science is Biology.  Needless to say, she is having a great time looking through the microscope.
The office goodies from the kit this month were perfect for our school day photos.
And I really love the colors and the fun embellishments.

Don't forget, there is a new set of challenges over at the Sampler.  You don't need to use a Sampler kit to play and last month there weren't a ton of people playing so your odds of winning a prize are great.

Well, back to work.

Hugs.

Love Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a new project I made using the gorgeous Declarations Collection from Pink Paislee.  When I first purchased this kit I thought I would use it for our Fourth of July photos.  Unfortunately, the boys were out of town and the girls and I went to a BBQ in the afternoon and then just hung low that night.  Not much in the way of patriotic photos.

Luckily, this collection is good for so much more!  This time, a photo of my love, Phil.  hee hee  Hard to believe we have been together for 22 years now.  We will actually celebrate our 20 wedding anniversary next year!
Of course there was lots of distressing with my Prima Distress Tool.  I changed the center of my flower using some Fired Brick Distress Stain and used a bit of doily I picked up from HSN.  A few Prima letters, a Paper Trey Ink Banner die and a bit of ball trim and my project was complete.

I am really happy with the way it turned out.  And so happy that my beloved paper is not going to waste because I didn't have any Patriotic photos.

OK, well.....gotta run.

Hugs.

Make a Splash - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you another project made with photos from my trip to Hawaii.  The children loved playing in the warm ocean water, such a change from the colder northern California beaches.

The papers and the trims in the September, Flying High Kit, from the Sampler were just perfect for these photos.  I used  few flowers and chipboards from my stash.
Only a few more days to complete the Sampler card and sketch challenges.  You don't have to use a Sampler kit to play, and there is a good chance you could win a prize.

Hugs.

Let's Hike - Miracles Momma Designs

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a project I did for Heather's sketch DT, MMD.  These are photos from our recent trip to Hawaii.  We spent a day hiking and checking out waterfalls.  The weather was somewhat iffy that day, making the hiking a fairly unattractive activity that day so we had many of the falls to ourselves.  hee hee

These are some ancient Scenic Route papers.  I am forever trying to clean out the stash.

Well, house guests this week.  Lots of school to do.  Gotta run.

Hugs,

Nancy

I Love....Orange?

Yep, orange....Didn't used to be one of my favorite colors in scrapbooking.  Can't even begin to tell you how many orange things I have that have just been lying around forever.  But recently, I have really found a new appreciation for this color.  Maybe because it is more tangerine?  or nectarine...but whatever it is....LOVE.

For this photo of my not so little darlings I used the new The Sweetest Thing collection from My Minds Eye.  I was just so drawn to the colors in this line.
Lots of lovely pennants, and a bit of washi (another new love?) mixed with some mist and a few gems and epoxies helped fill the white space (still something I struggle with).
All in all, a great document of their closeness.

Well, gotta get to work.

Hugs.

After All These Years - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a bit about the My Prima Place magazine.  Did you know that when you place your Prima order with Your Memories Here you get a fabulous publication that is produced by Prima Marketing?  Each issue is chock full of inspiration with lots of projects both on and off the page (many have step by step instructions), a designer showcase, challenges, and freebies (yep, gorgeous free Prima paper).

I took the recipe challenge from Vol. 1 to complete this layout.  The recipe called for lots of goodies from the Almanac collection, which I just happened to have on hand thanks to my fabulous grab bag from Your Memories Here.
The florals, wood clocks, canvas resist, and pearls...oh my!  They were just crying out to be layered and stacked.  And I used my Prima Distress Tool to distress my papers for texture.
There is still time for you to grab a complete collection, even the mid release Firefly, or mixed bag (three sizes available)  and the newest volume of My Prima Place.  So....what are you waiting for?  Isn't it time for a bit of inspiration?

Hugs.

Come Away with the Sampler

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a project I made with the Flying High kit from The Sampler.  I love the hot air balloon paper in the kit and couldn't resist a little fussy cutting.

Seems my style may be changing....I seem to be doing a lot more of these simple layouts lately.  hmmmmmm

Well, don't forget about the August Sketch and Card Challenges, over on the Sampler blog there is still time to enter and you don't need to use the kit to play.  You could win a super cool goodie bag just for playing!

Art Journal

Hi everyone!  Sorry I am a bit late, but lately I haven't really been feeling it, blogging.....

I did however work on some projects for upcoming reveals as well as my art journal.  I don't just love it, but it was fun trying some new techniques.

I used some placed some older Thickers onto my canvas and covered them with a bit of gesso.  When that was dry I spritzed my letters with a few different colors of glimmer mist.
Some flowers, a bird (gotta put a bird on it) and a bit of lace completed my design.  A photo of my darling husband with a transparency completed the page.

Like I said, I don't love it...but had fun playing with gesso.

Ainsley is done with her writing so back to work for me.

Hugs.

Do You Ustream?

Hi everyone, today to I wanted to share with you a bit about kits and Prima's, "Live With Prima" show.  About once a week Prima hosts on online free scrapinar where you can learn from some of their fabulous educators and designers.  Each class has a "kit" that is used and of course, Your Memories Here, is the best place to find that kit.  Of course, the kit is not needed to learn and get great ideas!  If you don't like the colors or you just want to try something different you can use the ideas with other materials goodies from the store.  hint, hint...I have another album using a kit from Hydrangea Hippo using this same technique coming soon.
This mini album is from a Live with Prima class that Jamie Dougherty did last winter.
These are some older Prima papers that may not be easy to find now, mixed with some lovely Prima flowers, vines, butterflies, buttons, chipboard and more.No problem, grab one of the new CHA grab bags and use the techniques shown in the class to make this album your own.

Mix and match your papers and embellishments and you can create multiple projects for the holidays.  I know a few friends and family members who would love to open a gorgeous mini album this winter.

Most of the shows are recorded, so if you miss a class, but love the project you can always go back and watch....or, if you are like me, you can watch over and over so you can be sure to get the technique.  And, if you do watch the show live, you may see some of your favorite YMH designers chatting.  hmmm, wonder who?  hee hee

So, what are you waiting for?  Grab a box or bag from summer CHA, watch a "Live with Prima" video and get creating.

Hugs.

Winning! - The Sampler

You could be, if you played along with the Sampler's blog hop which you can find here or our sketch and card challenges.

Today I wanted to share with you my last few projects made with the August kit, All Gussied Up.   I know it is September...and the new kit is available...but I couldn't resist sharing these last few designs.

I just love the colors and patterns in this kit.  They are so summery.  And the photos of the children just crack me up.  Mackenzie was quite the winner this summer in our cabana league getting one of the 5 high point trophies for the league (900 swimmers) as well as the high point for our team.  And I just love how well Brighton and Mackenzie get along and how much they really love each other.

Anyway......

This month's kit (September) promises to be just as much fun. (I just started working with it).  It features blues and greens, lace and felt, die cuts, and tapes.  I just know you are going to love it.

Hugs.

Testing....1, 2, 3

Hey everyone!  We are right in the middle of a fun, holiday weekend in the US and I don't even know if anyone is checking their blogs....but I wanted to share with you the September kit from the Sampler, "Flying High".

This kit is filled with gorgeous blues and greens, lace, felt, die cuts and tapes.  As well as some gorgeous goodies from Hambly....which I know I miss already.

I have started digging in...and am hoping this long weekend gives me lots of time to play some more.
